Republican Karim Lakhani
is pretending to be a Democrat
But a six-figure rebrand can’t hide the truth
Karim called Obama “failing," “opportunistic,” a “mistake,” and said ObamaCare “must” be repealed.
He wrote for a right-wing newspaper founded by Republican Fox News commentator Ann Coulter.
At the same time, Karim proudly did “everything in his power” to help elect far-right candidates who opposed same-sex marriage and a woman’s right to choose.

Meet the real Karim Lakhani:
“I believe President Obama deserves a failing grade.”
“ObamaCare set a new record for government overreach.”
“The country needs a more capable individual to occupy the White House.”
“During my senior year, my friend and I built up enough courage to start the school’s first Republican Club…”
“I've got the Cornell College Republicans… I was able to meet conservative students… [and] refine my ideas with assuredness.”
“I didn’t end up having to hide my political posters in my closet or read …conservative news sources under the blanket after my roommates fell asleep.”
“Who will be Romney’s VP?” p. 8,11
“The question now is who gives him the best chance at defeating President Obama in November?”
“Jon Huntsman, who I personally like a lot…”
At the time this was written, Huntsman publicly opposed same-sex marriage and a woman’s right to choose.
“Two of my favorite choices: Representative Ryan and Governor Christie.”
“Skorton: No Longer Any Person, Any Study” p. 9
“I don’t believe it is justified to use affirmative action measures to push an agenda of diversity…”
“I am not saying that certain races are more or less capable than others; I am simply saying that Skorton’s focus is too much on an individual’s race…”
“[Affirmative action] will generate a more diverse Cornell community, but one that is less qualified and less deserving than this prestigious university has the potential to attract.”
“Under President Skorton, Cornell’s motto has become: 'I would found an institution where any person can find instruction in any study,' unless you happen to be white and don’t improve Cornell’s diversity.”
“A Case for Romney 2012” p. 1,5
“I, like many Romney supporters…”
“To those who are not sold on Romney, I ask: would you rather have four more years of failed, big government policies…”
“The longer the Republicans wait to unite, the harder it will be to restore a promising future for the country.”
“Obamacare’s Hidden Costs” p.8
“ObamaCare must be repealed…”
“Under Cover of Diversity” p. 1-2
“Under the cover of diversity, the Cornell Chronicle is instituting affirmative action measures to create not only unreasonable, but also unwarranted advantages for ethnic minorities.”
“Learning From Obama in Illinois: Let's Not Elect Another Opportunistic Neophyte” p.9-10
“What lessons have we learned from the election and presidency of Barack Obama that may help us avoid repeating the mistake we did in 2008?”
“The last two years have shown how unaccustomed and inexperienced Obama is to the intricacies of the law-making process.”
“Will we learn from the last two years, or will we make the same mistake again.”
The record shows: Karim Lakhani is so far-right
that he’s wrong for Chicago and this district.

Thankfully, there’s a real Democrat running
While Karim Lakhani was doing “everything in his power to help Mitt Romney win,” Paul Kendrick was serving on President Obama’s campaign, and later worked in his White House AND Department of Education.
After the Obama Administration, Paul proudly served on Governor Pritzker's campaign, helping elect a Democrat to the state’s highest office.
Paul later went on to lead Rust Belt Rising for five years, training hundreds of Democrats across the Midwest to organize their communities and win.
In response to the first Trump Administration, Paul built the neighborhood’s Indivisible chapter with fellow organizers he met at the 2017 Women’s March.
Paul currently serves as a Community Representative for the Lincoln Park High School Local School Council and is a former member of Alcott’s LSC, proudly volunteering his educational expertise to strengthen our schools.
Paul is active in our neighborhood associations, serving on the board of the West Park Neighbors Association.
Paul and his wife are proud to be raising their daughters in the community they love.
